Concrete to “Neat!”
Overview: Located in Carroll Gardens next to the Hamilton Avenue Footbridge that connects the neighborhood to Red Hook, there is an unmaintained concrete open space. Although the footbridge was renovated in 2023, the remaining lot remains an opportunity for neighborhood collaboration. Ideas for how to invigorate the space might include more sustainable infrastructure to prevent flooding, more foliage and trees, paint to brighten the area, movable chairs, or any other ideas that residents would enjoy.
Project Status: To kick off the initiative, I’m asking neighbors directly next to their sight to provide their input via a short survey.
Lincoln Square Tree Care Study
Overview: In 2024, I surveyed the over 400 trees and tree pits located within the Lincoln Square BID, noting their conditions and making recommendations for how the BID might help better care for the trees.
